What they say:
Snow Foam is for a contactless prewash which gives a white foam when used with a pressure washer. Snow foam is to break down dirt and contamination as much as possible to reduce the possibility of damaging your paintwork, such as minimising swirling or scratch marks that could be caused by smearing your car with a wash mitt or sponge. We offer two types of Snow Foam, but we will concentrate on our regular snow foam – a more alkaline-based solution than our Ph Neutral Snow Foam.
Snow Foam is capable of breaking down more stubborn dirt and contamination. Even if your vehicle is covered from the bottom up with general dirt, it will be most effective to use Snow Foam as this is a more robust base solution.
Everyone likes their snow foam with different consistency with the thickness of what they think is best. Everyone’s preference is different and will never be able to please everyone as there are various pressure washers, types of snow foam lances used, and the internal build quality of the snow foam lance will result in different thicknesses. That is why we always recommend finding your desired dilution ratio. But as a starting point and if we had to recommend try anywhere between 1:4 and 1:9 and adjust accordingly to what you desire.

What we say:
Shimmer Snow Foam is a contactless snow foam (foam cannon / lance required in the review we used the MJJC). It is safe to use with all coatings be it wax, sealant or ceramic. It is concentrated so you can dilute to suit your own needs – the owners of Shimmer recommend 1:4 parts water: heavy soiling, 1:9 parts water: light to medium soiling.
For this review I used a ratio of 1:4. It produced very thick, luxurious foam at this ratio and had great clinging power. I left it to dwell for around 5 minutes (adjust timings to suit your situation, especially in hot or sunny conditions) and I could physically see it lifting dirt and loosening contamination away. After a thorough rinse with a pressure washer the vehicle was 85% clean. I have tested numerous snow foams over the years and some are genuinely good pre-washes and some are unfortunately just a gimmicky coloured show-foam – this product however not only looks fantastic it cleans fantastic as well – very impressed.
