Product Review: Angelwax H2GO – Glass Rain Repellent
As part of my ongoing product testing, I was kindly sent Angelwax H2GO by the Scottish manufacturing company, Angelwax, to review. This solvent-based rain repellent claims to enhance visibility in wet conditions by encouraging water to bead and roll off the glass, rather than sticking to it. You can easily purchase Angelwax H2GO from a variety of retailers, including Amazon, Clean Your Car, Slim’s Detailing, Clean and Shiny, in2Detailing, and of course, directly from Angelwax.
First Impressions
Angelwax H2GO comes in a neat 100ml screw-top plastic bottle, adorned with the sleek Angelwax logo and clear instructions on the back. The packaging is simple but effective, giving off a premium feel, and the product itself feels substantial despite its small size.
Application Process
After thoroughly cleaning the windscreen with a generic glass cleaner, I followed the instructions provided on the bottle. The process was straightforward:
Ensure the glass is clean, dry, and properly prepared.
Spray H2GO onto a clean, dry microfibre cloth or applicator and apply to the glass in circular motions.
Cover the entire surface and leave to bond for approximately 10-15 minutes until a haze forms.
Finally, buff off the residue using a second clean, dry microfibre cloth.
I applied the product first in an up-and-down motion on the driver’s side, followed by a left-to-right application to ensure full coverage (Slightly way from the circular motions in the instructions). I repeated the same process on the passenger side, using a small cotton pad (similar to a makeup applicator) to evenly distribute the solution across both areas. After the 10-15 minute bonding period, I found it very easy to buff off the residue with a plush microfibre towel. The haze disappeared quickly, leaving the glass crystal clear.
Initial Results
Unfortunately, shortly after application, it started to rain, so I had to move the vehicle back into the garage to allow the product to cure fully. I want to ensure the maximum effectiveness before testing the water-repellency feature in real-world driving conditions. However, the initial application was smooth, and the product was easy to work with, leaving no streaks or patches behind.
Final Thoughts (For Now)
So far, Angelwax H2GO seems like a promising addition to any detailer’s kit. The application was straightforward, and it was effortless to buff off. I’ll update this review in the coming weeks once I’ve had the chance to fully test the water-repellent properties and see how it performs during everyday driving.
Stay tuned for an update on its longevity and real-world performance in the rain!
Real-Life Experience with Angelwax H2GO Glass Sealant – A Few Days Later
A day after applying Angelwax H2GO Glass Sealant, I began to notice a visible difference, particularly when driving in the rain. At lower speeds, around 25 mph, I could see the larger beads of water rolling off the glass. As I increased speed to around 35–45 mph, the water cleared from the glass without the need to use my wipers. Impressively, even when I did use the wipers, there was no juddering or smearing, something I’ve experienced with other glass sealants in the past.
I’ve added some additional images to the gallery below to showcase the effect of the water on the treated glass when stationary. Overall, I’m very happy with Angelwax H2GO and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable glass sealant.
